Head of Year, Somerset College

About the role

Permanent, full-time Head of Year role in the Senior School, beginning in 2027 and reporting to the Deputy Head – Pastoral. The role leads pastoral care, wellbeing, behaviour, academic engagement, transitions and year-level activities for a designated student cohort, working with tutors, teachers, families and school leaders. The preferred candidate can teach Mathematics, Economics, Science or Humanities and will coordinate meetings, camps, service activities and other cohort events.

• Experienced educator with strong pastoral leadership capability
• Teaching qualifications and Queensland registration eligibility
• Working with Children Blue Card eligibility
• First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain
• Ability to use academic and wellbeing data effectively
• Commitment to student safety, inclusion and respectful relationships
